About a dozen protestors were at the state capitol Wednesday because they can’t get pharmacies to fill their prescriptions for painkillers.

Karen Stateler injured her neck and back 20 years ago, but just last year her pharmacist stopped carrying the methadone her doctor prescribes. She’s even had to be rushed to the ER for withdraws after going days without her medication.

“I think it’s particularly dangerous for seniors, because we have other health problems too and going through repeated withdraws month after month is not healthy,” said Stateler.
