Skydog,

I just set up a TDAmeritrade account and am in the process of funding it for the first time. I have been using Sharebuilder until now and according to their list of fees/prices, it will cost either $15 or $75 (not sure) to transfer all of my shares over. This is tempting because I usually pay anywhere between 20-40$ commissions everytime I buy a 4-5k block of shares for around $500-600+. I placed a sell order just to see what it would cost in commissions to sell my 120k shares the other day and it was going to be like almost $800 in fees for any share price less than $1.00. I could wait for pps over $1 but I'm thinking I might try to start trading the rises and dips soon and would be in a much better position to do so with TD-A.

Case in point, the brokerage you are transferring from should be the one that charges the fee(s), if any apply.
