I like the way this sounds

"Ekom Eya Small Scale Permit, Bibiani, Western Region, Ghana PGS 143
4
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Bibiani Gold Mine and its satellite deposits, including the Ekom Eya Small Scale Permit, are all located
within the Sefwi-Bibiani Greenstone Belt in the Western Region of Ghana. This greenstone belt is host to
over 17 million ounces of gold, and is the second-most significant gold bearing greenstone belt in Ghana
after the Ashanti Greenstone Belt to the east.
Gold deposits developed within the Birimian Supergroup of Ghana are often located near the interfaces of
metavolcanics and metasediments (Figure 2) along which regional shears are developed. These shear zones
are locally splayed which also contain gold deposits.
This is very apparent around the Bibiani Gold Mine, where numerous gold deposits are located near this
interface along a regional shear as well as along a splay (Figures 2 & 4; also Appendix 4, Figure 2).
Mining operations began at the Bibiani Gold Mine in 1902, and although there have been several disruptions
to production with closing and re-opening the mine, total historical gold production from the Main Mine
and its satellite ore bodies amounts to approximately 4 million ounces.
Controls on gold mineralisation at Bibiani are well understood given the long mining history. Multiple
priority exploration targets have also been identified within a 6km radius of the Bibiani Mine by
independent assessment of the exploration potential.
Noble Mineral Resources Limited are the current owners of the Bibiani Mine and satellite deposits, and after
a full detailed review of the available geological and historical production data by Noble, they announced a
maiden JORC Compliant resource statement of Measured, Indicated and Inferred JORC compliant resource
for Bibiani of 32.98 million tonnes at a grade of 1.87 g/t for 1,980,000 ounces.
The Ekom Eya Small Scale Permit is 24.79 acres in area (Figure 3) and was part of the Bibiani North License
previously held by Central African Gold (CAG), and now held by Noble Mineral Resources Ltd (see Appendix 3
for details).
The Ekom Eya Small Scale Permit is located about 800m north of the northern boundary of the Bibiani mine
concession (see Appendix 4, Figure 2). It is only 3.5 km from the Bibiani plant site (see Aerial View of Bibiani,
Appendix 3), is accessible by road through the Bibiani mine site via the village of Lineso Donkoto and is
approximately 7 km to the north of Bibiani Township.
The Ekom Eya property is developed at the northern end of a string of satellite deposits which splayed from
the Bibiani main shear. The curvi-linear satellite deposits are from south to north, namely: Walsh, Strauss,
Ahiman (Ahemen), Grasshopper and Ekom Eya (part of Bibiani North) at the northern end (Figure 4; also
Appendix 4, Figure 2). Spatially, each deposit is separated by 1.0 - 1.5 km in the north – south direction and
displaced between 0.4 - 0.8km in the east-west direction (Figure 4). The satellite properties may differ in
some structural disposition but intrusives such as granites, quartz porphyries and aplites are closely
associated with the gold mineralization observed in these satellite deposits.
Primary gold is associated with quartz developed in a shear zone generally 5 – 20m wide. Quartz is often dark
grey to smoky and fills fissures as veins and stockworks. Invariably, quartz porphyry occurs at the foot and
hanging walls of the shear zone often defined by graphitic gouge. Sulphides such as pyrite, arsenopyrite,
pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite occur with the gold and the schistose host rocks exhibit carbonate alteration and
are often graphitic. http://www.katexploration.com/Graphics/properties/Ekom%20Eya%20Gold%20Property/Ekom_%20Eya_Report_Western_Region_Bibiana_Ghana.pdf
