Storm Reply: dreamonjion, of course I rememebr you! I am glad to hear from you. The potential strategic alliance. My thoughts:
1) No regrets that they informed us of LOI , it raises the complany's public profile that a big cotne towners wants to work with us. I think it will eventually become finalized. but, i wont even gander a guess as to when that it.
2) What I do think is they are moving ahead jointly, setting up the collaboration communications lines and infrastructure, etc, and are probabvly gaining a certain comfort level. you knnow how it is, technical gyus are getting together to make to collaboration happen while awaiting formal agreement of alliance.
3)I emailed company a couple of days after they FIRST announced this LOI in June. My questions and IR's answers were...
Storm: Is some of this content going to make it into initial release of mega-movie/video app? Or later?
IR Reply: Most likely
Storm:Is this other app company private?
IR Reply : Private
Storm: I assume we are the ones with the groovier technology and they are the ones with the attractive higher tier content?
IR Reply: We both have different yet complimentary tech and content...and similar vision
Now, #2 they reveased in a blog the next day and #1 I am pretty sur they have stated in some blog in the last 2 months, but #3 is insightful and give me confidence that they is a good synergy there. Shared vision is important.
My other opinion (abnd its born out in 8/23/12 blog) is Mega Movie/Video app has been pushed back in priority a bit so that higher tier content from this alliance aprtner cen be folded into there.
I, indepedently, have done research on other Move-type apps currently popular in the Top 200 ranks, and I think that MRNJ will be able to compete (or surpass) with them in popularity pretty quickly (exception being NETFLIX of course) as long as they get some modern content movie-wise.
I have also shared my research/list of other developers with IR to assist them with their own development. I figured it cannot hurt for them to know their competition.
Overarcing everything else, is every day MRNJ gets a larger and larger user base to PUSH this app when it is released. So I am not as impatient to see this app as some, knowing that a bigger user base can immediately give this new app an incredible initial SHOT in the arm in downloads.
