My understanding is #3 was planned to be installed in the original building and the new building was going to be used for manufacturing on a temporary basis. Apparently there is sufficient space on the property to accomodate another building for manufacturing and it can be constructed rapidly. From what I understand, less than $500K and a couple months.
The plan is for the fourth NF processor to be installed in the now existing new building. I don't know when that will occur. I assume after the first RockTenn site is on line. I also assume #5 is planned be located in that building as well, but I did not ask that question specifically.
From what I understand the kilns on #1 are being replaced but the benefit of the premelt on #1 was evaluated and it may be that it is more beneficial to use that kiln elsewhere. I don't know if that decision was made, but it is possible that #1 will only process around 2000# per hour.
The kilns are manufactured domestically.
