It does make a difference if the shares are restricted. Restricted share are given to people that are privy to information, most of the time. Being that they have inside information they can't just sell their stock. Below is a link that explains the selling of restricted stock. But in my experience restricted stock isn't the only stock that is given for service and loan payoffs. EX: If someone were paid to take those "perfessions pictures" they probably were not paid with restricted stock as Peter Vernen and the CPA are getting paid with restricted stock.
