my 2 words; TOO LATE... I never had any wind fall like a big house flip or any inheritance, so with 4 kids and 3 step children, we lived well but I never had a chunk to put into the blue chips. I had the right idea when I was only in my 20's when I bought 1 share of IBM...I think it was right after a split and about $400.....a few years later I sold it about even..net. I even started looking for new or depressed stocks on the NYSE while reading the WSJ every morning at work...it was around .25 then in the machine.I bought odd lots of Reebok, Isuzu, Fuji. Waste Mgmt, had a US Savings Bond a month taken out of my check plus comm free General Tire stock while working for AeroJet.....But, during the 10 years following my divorce at 30, I went nuts......10% profits didn't excite me anymore, when I subscribed to the Penny Stock Journal, started going to Vegas and along came the PC and Raging Bull...I was making a ton and putting it back in pos pumped stocks as I advanced to SI and the hub....not a dollar went into quality stocks...I was hooked on the rush.
Everything in my life started going 'south' around the time the twin towers were still smoking....strange. I told my daughter as we watch it on TV that 'life will never be the same again'....Never wished more to be wrong...
6 years later a stroke...then a ch 7 bk, gave my new car back as I watched my 20 year old insurance biz go down the toilet with my portfolio.

So, other than that, things are great......I am approaching the male life expectancy age, so, this too shall come to pass.

cheers,

tom
