Update on Russel Hunt, who you posted about yesterday.
He is the guy that has run for local office in Redding about 12 times, unsuccessfully, then got busted for stalking a woman.
Well, he is trying another tactic to get elected. He changed his name and is running for school board.
"Perennial candidate Russell Kay Hunt will appear on some Shasta County ballots in November, though voters might not recognize him.
That’s because Hunt, who’s unsuccessfully sought numerous local elected offices in past years, has a new name to try to sway voters — Treun Sealgair.
Hunt — or Sealgair — is seeking one of two spots on the Shasta Union High School District board of trustees. Incumbents Kristen Schreder and James Schwerdt are also running.
He's campaigning under the slogan "R Skools Suc (sic)," according to a sign on the northwest corner of Placer Street and Buenaventura Boulevard. The sign also promotes a "return to discipline and learning, with a focus on career and vocational jobs."
Hunt’s name change was confirmed Wednesday by Cathy Darling Allen, Shasta County clerk and registrar of voters.
