Like most people who scoff at this, you are totally missing the point. Nobody is trying to ban melatonin. What is being challenged is the use of Melatonin as a food additive, not a dietary supplement. When it is included in a package form factor suggesting a routine part of someone's diet, it is being used as a food additive, which is already illegal since it's not considered GRAS. There is currently a loophole which allows this to occur by simply labeling the package as a 'dietary supplement'. There is a movement to close this loophole for Melatonin-containing products packaged as food (like 12 oz beverages). The proposed ban has nothing to do with shot size packages or dietary supplement tablets.

I'm not making this up. Instead of barking at me, try educating yourself about something which may have a substantial impact on the company in which you hold shares.
