Not sure what the LOL is, but if the patent is not granted then the protection NEVER begins. Plus, we have no idea what such a patent would be worth, if it would hold up in court or under a re-exam, or if any products would be ruled as infringing.
So he may have the time period wrong, but for another potentially worthless EDIG patent that seems to be the least important of all considerations. Same with the applications filed for the seemingly nonexistent Nunchi.
So once some credibility is gained in these other areas length of protection time assumes some importance. And, according to your timetable, not much protection left for 774.
