It's highly unlikely that this player would be a licensing of the Odyssey 1000 product IMO. Although one could certainly check with EMI Global tomorrow for the facts.

Reasons for my opinion:

1. There has been no announcement from e.Digital that Musical has licensed the Ody 1000 design.

2. It doesn't look like the Ody 1000.

3. It does not have any e.Digital technology mentioned.

4. It appears to support ID3 tags since music can be sorted by genre.

5. It does not use e.Digital's Music Explorer software.

6. It does not have FM.

I don't believe it is an Apple licensee either.

IMO it appears to be Musical's own attempt to copy the iPod. I think it could face trade dress infringement action if it is ever released.
