bobs10, that says a lot if you think that Itanium is making an operational profit. I'm not sure. It currently supports quite a large ongoing development and marketing effort which has to be spread over a small number of shipping chips.

If they are really making an operational profit then Intel can afford to let the effort continue indefinitely into the future.

So far no one has responded with hard numbers. I suspect that once Itanium can show operational profits over a few quarter then Intel will document it publically.
