Nope. They hoped their patent would hold up. It didn't. Now they have nothing to show shareholders except more of same (which won't happen in my opinion) and more patents and the mythical nunchi.

In order to keep the debate alive they describe it as optimistically (and dishonestly) as they can. DM is finished but it serves EDIG's purposes to keep the technical relationship extant - so they do.

Are they shrewd? Yes - shrewd enough to keep taking people's money. Are they prescient? No - they just know hoe to keep the plates spinning.
