exactly ... keep sharing, sharing is good. i started with options as a trading vehicles, using calls(buying them) mainly. but found out quickly that your timing better be right regarding direction and speed of price movement. first call i bought was a out the money dollar strike call in the sept contract for coffee. premium paid was one($375), i started with 5k, drove down to new port beach or irvine to meet my commodity broker and hand him the 5k. he was in his twenties representing ADM and was dutch/indo like me. bought otm strike calls with lots f time, this was march and bought september contracts...i was very LUCKY, bought coffee,cocoa,orange juice,soymeal and eurodollar(dollars traded in european banks,not the EURO as we know it now). I then went surfing with my son in baja for a couple weeks.
sold the coffee call i bought for 375 bucks for 7 grand, the others were doubles and some triple, this was 1993 before they invented e-minies futures...tell me some of your success stories,k?
my best long premium trade was on this knight holdings when they first hit the market(ipo)they are the market maker in the news lately, in 1999 bought a otm call with only 45 days left, it doubled overnight so i quickly bought a couple more and within a couple weeks sold them for elevenTHOUSAND each!
