When you have a seller that sells millions of shares at the bid or even worse, at market prices, then you have what you see today. The market makers will drop the price like a rock if no buying at the ask comes in and only bid sitters get filled. Once buying at the ask comes back in, the market makers move this stock's price back up quickly.
