BBQ sauce makes everything better, don't 'ya know. And it covers all sorts of things till you can't recognize what it was originally. Try it on the frog legs, tell everyone they are chicken, and no one will know the difference, except if you leave those darn webbed feet on 'em! I'm pretty sure you can at least "paste" with a good thick BBQ sauce. What's that? Oh, sorry the recipe says "baste"! Never mind! :-)
