Whats the diff? Anyone know? Beneficial shareholder v shareholder.

Beneficial Shareholder: You are a Beneficial Shareholder if you maintain your position in the Company within a brokerage account.

shareholder:
Any person, company, or other institution that owns at least one share in a company. A shareholder may also be referred to as a "stockholder."

from the Balance Sheets 8/15/2012

(v) Total number of beneficial shareholders;
Common - 3040
(vi) Total number of shareholders of record.
Common - 372

Does anyone know what the difference is?
