John Karamitsos is VP of Research & Development at Itokk Communications, where he pioneered the company’s Web-enabled approach to information distribution. He is responsible for R&D, engineering, the design and the implementation of the Global VoIP network.

John has more than 15 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. The majority of his carrier has been spent developing hardware and software and looking for innovative ways to increase productivity with computer internet technology.

John launched his career at Intracom in 1994, holding senior positions of research and development. In the following 10 years worked on a variety of telecom systems covering most technical and business aspects of exploration and production. Later moving to Huawei Technologies where he worked in Business Development as Executive Director. In the following three years, John worked for developing and implementing Huawei’s R&D strategy for Broadband and Wireless product lines in the Greek and Balkan area. In 2007, has undertaken the Network Director position in ON Telecoms, a Greek ISP start-up providing triple play services (Internet, Voice, IPTV) based on broadband technologies.

John has received the prestigious award from Huawei as “2005 Best Employee in Europe”.
