It might not be crazy from the seller's perspective. We have no way of knowing why they need the money.
What I find more significant from today's trading is that this hair-fire emergency selling has been met by healthy amounts of buying... When a seller is unloading a large position in a hurry, they have to lower the ask to a price at which they can get volume. That volume then clears out the selling and establishes the basis for a strong move up. Somebody is going to make a killing on the shares bought today.
