I thought I was pretty clear the first time but let me try again...a dividend can be paid out in the firm of cash or stock...that would equate to an increase in the value of your portfolio either way...
A forward split can simply turn 10 shares into 100 shares...but the 100 shares are still only worth what the 10 shares were worth...there is no "dividend" in that scenario...

If you had 100 shares and they gave you 10 shares as a dividend, your portfolio increases as a result of that dividend...that is a true dividend...

Kim can call his forward split a dividend, but that is highly misleading and IMO ethically and morally wrong...
