That is cool!

I was looking earlier at this:

IBM Mobile Shopper Provides Instant In-Store Digital Scanning, Checkout Capability for Consumers Using Mobile Phones

The IBM Mobile Shopper, or "digital shopping assistant," incorporates Honeywell's high-performance SwiftDecoder Mobile bar code decoding software, one of many patented technologies that have helped secure the company's  leadership in camera-based bar code decoding.  Among them is the practice of decoding bar code-related information from a real-time video image, such as the display of a smart phone or other mobile device (U.S. patent 6,015,088).

and this:

IBM partners with Honeywell to create mobile shopping app

New retail technology by IBM lets shoppers scan items to purchase with a smartphone and then head directly to a self-checkout station to pay.

and also this:

and then Toshiba getting into the equation:

Toshiba Tec and IBM Announce Initial Closing of Acquisition of IBM’s Retail Store Solutions Business and Formation of Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions
www-03.ibm.com/press/us/en/pressrelease/38491.wss

and it makes me wonder if that teaming of Gavitec and Honeywell has flowed along

Honeywell Teams With Gavitec On Area-Imaging Solution For Mobile Ticketing
www.retailsolutionsonline.com/doc.mvc/Honeywell-Teams-For-Mobile-Ticketing-0001?

I know Neomedia still has the Xelia and the other scanner as part of the "end to end" solution...makes me wonder. I don't see Neomedia being an "complete" end to end solution (as Laura says) if they are not into something like this, teaming with other companies...NDA???
Anyway, I read somewhere while browsing this line of info that Toshiba Tech plans to make a bunch of acquisitions in the coming months....could Neomedia be part of it??

Have a good weekend,

Vero
