Fortunately the mine was only 30 minutes off my planned route (well, it ended up being a little longer than that, I got tagged by a cop leaving the area doing around 95mph but he only tagged me for passing a semi truck in a no passing zone) I left the place with the feeling that things are happening and it's definately a producing company, it was the fresh dirt that gave me a good vibe. It's clear that they are processing for gold.
The cop had to be going pretty fast to catch up with me and he was coming from the direction of the mine, it's possible that the person who was watching me take pics of the place called him. He asked me what I was doing in Crescent Valley, I told him I was an investor taking pictures of the mine to update shareholders on the progress. He was cool cop, fortunately. Coulda thrown the book at me going so fast.
