Maybe you already captured this, but I had meant to convey that wireless LAN and wireless WAN are also fundamentally very different.

I see what you mean. I kind of like having my cable company also provide the content, because at least at this point in time, it enables me to get a discount on cable prices. It's just $10 per month, but since I am only paying for basic cable ($8/mo), it ends up being better than free. Besides, I'm not so much of a television watcher that I need to have a premium cable package.
