Gleason opens manufacturing facility in China By ANDREA DECKERT Rochester Business Journal July 17, 2012 Gleason Corp. on Tuesday unveiled its new manufacturing facility in Suzhou Industrial Park, Jiangsu Province, China.
The 156,000-square-foot facility is home to the Gleason Gear Technology Co. Ltd. operation, which was established in 2007. The facility produces Gleason’s line of Genesis gear-hobbing machines for the China market, as well as a line of gear-cutting tools.
Gleason formerly had the operations housed in separate facilities in the Suzhou Industrial Park.
Gleason expects additional products and services will be added over time as market needs and opportunities present themselves.
“We are proud and excited to open this state-of-the-art facility, expanding our already growing presence in China,” said John Perrotti, Gleason president and CEO, in a statement. "This investment in our new facility along with the continued expansion of our technical staff in China is a strong statement about our long-term commitment to this important market."
