I think I got it. Seems to work when I try it.

It's always a function of 9 times the first digit in whatever number you picked.

How I came up with this:

1. I took the highest and lowest numbers you could possibly get using his instructions (pick 2 digit number, add digits together, subtract from picked number). 99 = 99 - 18 = 81 and 10 - 1 = 9 (which means 99 is highest you could pick and 10 is lowest you could pick; and 9 and 81 are the highest and lowest *results* you could end up with)
2. Look at 9 and 81's icons. Always the same. I'm on it.
3. Now since the magic number seemed to be 9, I multipled 9 times each first digit you could pick (1-9). 1x9=9 2x9=18 3x9=27 etc...notice that each multiple of 9 is the same icon.
4. So what's the trick? He just keeps the icons for multiples of 9 all the same (but, as I mentioned in my last post, he slickly changes the icons on every reload of the page -- slight of the hand trick. -- that's what loses you)

Can anybody prove my theory wrong?

Mathematically:
YourNumber = mB
Equation = 9(m) = mB - m - B

YourNumber= 10
9 = 10 - 1 - 0 = 9

YourNumber= 28
18 = 28 - 2 - 8 = 18

YourNumber = 37
27 = 37 - 3 - 7 = 27

Notice, it's *always* a multiple of 9. So that's the trick. Based on the INSTRUCTIONS he has given, everything ends as a multiple of 9, so he just has to keep all multiples of 9 with the same icon. He can play with the rest to throw off anybody trying to create a pattern.. But, like I said before, the real trick is that it changes the symbols when you reload. Now that's slick. :)

Capice?

Edit: Not bad. Took me 25 minutes or so. Like a good math test. Math was my favorite subject!
