Poogs, I hate to contradict anyone, especially my friend Scooter, but with Scottrade, they do have a small fee for any stock priced less than $4.00 per share. It is 1/2 of 1% plus the normal $7.00 fee per trade. I have a cash account. That may be the difference between Scooter's and my fee schedule.
Scottrade has been pretty good to deal with. Never had any trouble. The only thing I dislike is if you enter a limit order and it gets split onto several smaller buys, you may see an extra fee if it does not all fill in one day. I ran into that on a 5 million share buy back in March. So it cost me $14 in fees.
But that only happened once in 3 years of using them.

Don't take my word for it, Do your own research! Then you will know it's true!
