• Privé had some of its finest moments during Friday night's MTV Video Music Awards party for actress Pamela Anderson (Baywatch, Stacked), who was in town promoting her new book, Star: A Novel. And what a novel party it was as Miami's most famous drag diva, Elaine Lancaster, showed just how good her friendship with Anderson is. The two were seen holding hands and cuddling all night long.

• Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria may seem to have it all but there's one thing she can't have: Grant Gold, the cherubic 2-year-old son of Miami bon vivants Kelly and Peter Gold. While rushing through the Ritz-Carlton South Beach lobby to catch her limo, Eva stopped to coo over Grant, telling his mom, ``Oooh, I want him. Can I have him?'

'I almost lost my son to Eva Longoria,' Gold said. ``They were flirting.'

Looks like Longoria's alleged beau, San Antonio Spurs player Tony Parker, may have some competition.

• Thanks to Hurricane Katrina, Hotel MTV's barbecue at the Surfcomber Doubletree was canceled, leaving a ton of uneaten food. Instead of saving it for 50 Cent's entourage, Virgin Mobile handed out the excess to the needy around Miami Beach. Bikini-clad models sporting angel wings not only fed the hungry, but have made a few pit stops at vacant clubs, tipping bartenders and paying cover charges for those insane enough to have braved the weather.

• On Saturday night, Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey dined at Miami Beach's China Grill, party of 11, please. They drank a bottle of Macallan 12-year -- Jess drinks
