No, Cross Country's shipping is very reasonable. And the packaging is quite ingenious. You have to order a minimum of 12 plants, with further increments of 6 plants each. Cross Country is in New Jersey, so like me, you'd get your delivery the day after it shipped. You can choose the week you want them to be delivered. For this area, they recommend the end of April or very beginning of May. You can place your order at any time from January on; if you do it early, you'll be sure to get everything you want.

They only sell peppas, tomatoes, and eggplants, but the variety is enormous. They have something like 55 kinds of peppas and 200 kinds of tomatoes. This is their site, but I see the server's down now:

I also get organic fertilizer from them in gallon jugs. It's a concentrate. Oddly, there isn't any shipping charge for them, though of course they're pretty heavy.
