Romney Needs Ron Paul as VP

http://pauldrockton.com/VPPaul.html

Why CEO's Suck at Politics

Mitt Romney is a slash and burn corporate raider. In Romney-world, corporate takeover means you vanquish your foes and replace them with your own people. People you can trust to do your bidding without asking too many questions. Absolute Monarchs, Dictators and CEOs like Romney like to have everything their own way.

The problem is, it doesn't work in politics. John F. Kennedy hated LBJ, but still made him VP to unite the Democratic Party. Its called coalition building and Romney is to stupid to figure it out.

The Ron Paul Solution

As of this writing, Obama is beating up on Romney in the polls. This election, from the look of things, will be decided by a few percentage points in the Fall. Ron Paul will bring at least 10% more votes to the Republican ticket (5% from Republicans that will not vote for Mitt Romney, and 5% from Independents). Yet, Romney will never swallow his massive ego long enough to see the benefits of having Ron Paul as a running mate.

Libertarian Republicans

Under Reagan, Libertarianism was the Republican platform. His small-government, pro-Bill of Rights message resonated with both Democrats and Republicans. Romney is a Statist. He honestly believes that government has all the answers, and not the individual. This will prove to be his downfall.

Obama is also a Statist. Vote Romney or Obama and you will have more of what you hate, big government and more foreign wars. Both candidates represent the 1% donating to their Super pacs, not the average American citizen.

Libertarianism is not anarchy. It is best defined as "That Government governs best which governs least". The Constitution and Bill of Rights are in fact Libertarian leaning documents.

Conclusion:

Ron Paul is the wild card in this race. Obama or Romney would benefit with him on the ticket. More so, than any other running mate. Yet, Obama is blinded by Party loyalty and Romney is blinded by his experience as a corporate raiding CEO.

In the event that neither side wakes up, expect third party politics to flourish this political year.
