Its not uncommon to sit on many boards if you are famous.

You get a paycheck for them using the Good Will of your name.

Both parties profit from it.

Obviously, with so many involvements, its pretty obvious that GF is there in name only.

But then, a single phone call by GF, could open doors into the Magical Kingdom of Government Defense Contractor Land.

Then its all Sugar Plums and Unicorns ...and Lobster. Lots of Lobsters...
