I think he is "both". He is an idiot that is still trying. History is full of "Heroes, Winners, and Icons" that were, for all intents and purposes, defeated yet they lacked the aptitude to understand the meaning of defeat, never mind the ability to accept it.

none the less, the hall of shame, is also filled with many of their brethren.
