I would like to see Kim take the Google approach and keep the farming and manufacture in the states. There's no reason the entire process from egg to spin to weave couldn't be fully automated. Lockheed, GE and other large corporations around the world are expert sources of automation that could partner with Kim. Our town has a beautiful vacant plastics plant he could use to scale up in.

He could start by adapting pick and place surface mount electronics assembly machines in the care and feeding of the MS worms and harvesting using color vision systems already in use today.

Picture a giant conveyor system with reusable plastic cell trays, a controlled environment for each worm in an environmentally controlled and protected enclosure.
