Don't know which compiler or OS from the Sun presentation, either. Seems AMD is milking the benchmark games for all it's worth, but I've said for years (even when Intel was behind in base) that base was the proper score to use, since it uses a common set of flags for all sub-tests, something more commonly found in the real world. At any rate, without the full specifications listed, it's hard to know if Intel doesn't already perform similarly. If Solaris was used, for example, and has certain optimizations that improve floating point along with special compiler tweaks, these optimizations may also improve Intel processors run with the same configuration. For the purpose of the Conroe comparison, the only meaningful score is one that is run with the same compiler, OS, and methodology.
