I will address this as best I can a little later .. I can tell you though that the solution to the thirties depression would be the same solutions that would help us now. The Federal Reserve knows how to fix this.. they have written papers on it .. explicitly stating that the THIRTIES 'taught them' how to avoid that debilitating situation all over again .. NOT the recession (the bubble). .but The Remedy.
As far as being 'worse' off now, then in the depression, I'm sure you are talking about the figures ? ...because I can guarantee you that if you and me could talk to some people from the thirties who went through that depression ... they would tell us .. that 'WE' haven't seen anything yet ! .. damn ... I remember those photos .. the dust bowl .. then many moving and going west .. . .anywhere .. looking for a job. Plus they had no social security, no unemployment checks, no medicare AND no SNAP (food) ...AND NO JOBS. imo, it would be hard to be worse than that ..
