StockScout what he means about the 3 days with SCOTTRADE is if you buy a stock on Monday, you can't do anything with it until Thursday (ie- 3 business days). If you try to sell before the three day settlement period you are charged a free ride fee and suspended from trading for 30 days. Which as he said is a LONG time with small caps/pennies/pinks/otc's. Because of the volatility of them whereas you can be up 200% by Wednesday, then on Thursday after the 3 day settlement period the bid could tank! This has happened to me on several occasions. It sucks. As well with the rule that if you deposit money into your account on say Monday, and you want to buy a stock under $4 a share YOU CAN'T for three business days! Once again when your dealing with these smaller priced stocks that's a lifetime!
