Thats Not Ekom Eya Abe,,,Here It Is..

Hmmm

Early geological traverses located several artisanal workings. Gold Coast Selection Trust discovered the Bibiani North ore body in 1933. Production started in 1939 and ended in 1941 when it was abandoned because of lack of reserves. The mine reached a maximum depth of 177 meters and a maximum strike length of 690 meters. Nearly 36,000 ounces were recovered from approximately 90,000 tons of ore.

The rest is Exploration
and Pick and Shoveling "Witch" continues today

The State Gold Mining Corporation carried out some exploration between 1961 and 1963 by means of an electromagnetic survey, soil sampling and by fourteen diamond drill holes.

Exploration by Gencor and Echo Bay (Ghana) Limited

Atwima-Amanano Goldfields Ltd acquired the License in February 1992 for a period of one year. A prospecting license was granted to Atwima-Amanano Goldfields in October 1993.

Gencor Mineral Resources explored the license on behalf of Atwima-Amanano Goldfields from October 1992 to March 1994. Apart from surface geochemical sampling, the old stopes of the Bibiani North Mine were sampled. Gencor concluded that the mineralisation at the Bibiani North Mine was related to quartz veins and disseminated sulphides in metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks.

Gencor outlined two geochemical soil anomalies 1.5 kilometres to the west of the Bibiani North Mine. These anomalies were initially referred to as the Gencor East and West anomalies and are now referred to as the Pamunu South anomaly.

After Gencor terminated its agreement, Echo Bay (Ghana) Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of International Gold Resources, obtained the exclusive option to acquire 100% of Atwima-Amanano Goldfields Limited after submitting a positive feasibility study.

Echo Bay Mining of the USA had an option to earn 50% of Echo Bay (Ghana) Limited by spending a certain amount on exploration. Echo Bay (Ghana) Limited carried out a work programme between August 1994 and April 1996.

An airborne geophysical survey covering magnetics, radiometrics and VLF was carried out over the license. Based on the results of this survey, two areas were selected for soil sampling; one to the south of the Pamunu River and to the west of the Bibiani North Mine, which area also covers the geochemical anomalies outlined by Gencor, and another in the northern part of the license.

(To the Point of Open Pit Mining)

Airborne electromagnetic anomalies were followed up by ground VLF (Fraser filter) surveys. The Bibiani North Mine did not show an electromagnetic anomaly. Several trenches were dug across soil anomalies and VLF anomalies. The best trench results were found in trenches across the anomalies outlined by Gencor: 0.44 g/t over 16 meters and 0.26 g/t over 10 meters.

Echo Bay (Ghana) Limited diamond drilled a total of twelve holes. Six holes were drilled into and around the old Bibiani North Mine. The best results were 49.4 g/t over 2.2 meters and 19.8 g/t over 2.65 meters, but most holes intersected gold values less than 1 g/t. The drilling appeared to indicate that there are high]grade remnants left around the old workings and that there was still the potential to locate high grade shoots on strike from the old workings.

Two holes were drilled over VLF anomalies to the west of Bibiani North Mine. No significant gold was intersected. The remaining three holes were drilled over the Pamunu anomalies. The best results are 1.1 g/t over 5 meters and 0.88 g/t over 10 meters. Echo Bay (Ghana) Ltd. renewed the license on behalf of Atwima Amanano Goldfields in 1995.

Exploration by Ashanti Goldfields (Bibiani) Limited (AABL)

Ashanti Goldfields Company, now AngloGold Ashanti, acquired International Gold Resources in June 1996. Further work on the Bibiani North Prospecting License was delayed until a settlement was reached on the farmingin rights of Echo Bay Mining. This was achieved in the latter part of 1996. AABL was created to operate the new Bibiani Mine and was also given responsibility for further exploration of the Bibiani and the Bibiani North Prospecting License. AABL renewed the Bibiani North license on behalf of Atwima Amanano Goldfields in 1997/1998. AABL bought out Atwima Amanano Goldfields in 2000, after which the license was again renewed in May 2001. AABL continued exploration activities until selling the property. Below is a summary of work done on each of the prospect areas by AngloGold Ashanti.

Exploration by Central African Gold

Since taking ownership of the Bibiani mine, CAG continued with diamond core drilling exploration of the underground mine and undertook limited RC drilling on a number of satellite deposits to test for extensions of mineralisation below the mined out pit shells.
