Shimadzu Medical Systems has entered into an agreement to distribute Imaging Diagnostic Systems' Computed Tomography Laser Mammography (CTLM) system in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
CTLM is designed for looking at the blood flow to the breast and to locate angiogenesis which can be hidden in routine mammography.
Dense breast tissue is easily imaged with CTLM compared to conventional mammography, thus providing physician with additional information.
Shimadzu Medical Systems general manager Nick Mascoulis said, "Shimadzu is well positioned to provide ongoing sales, service and support for the CTLM given our history and expertise in the medical device arena."
Shimadzu Medical, a subsidiary of Shimadzu, supplies diagnostic imaging products to healthcare industries.
