Not completely sure what you mean, news of the patents is not speculative.

They were awarded 5 more patents which give them a significant advantage over anyone who wants to enter the market of 'smart' security cameras. It also gives them the ability for legal recourse against anyone already in the market with similar devices.

Whether there is a significant market for their security cams and smartphone application is the speculative part you must answer yourself. Sounds pretty good to me though!
