Exxon is not a person they are a corporation. That money belongs to the various shareholders. They are simply acting as stewards of the shareholders money.

If Grandma with her retirement money in Exxon wants to donate great but I fail to see why Exxon as the keeper of her money should make that decision for her.

Heck lets insist that the California teachers pension fund donate a big percentage of the funds profits.

Or perhaps we should shoot the banker who hasn't unilaterally dipped into the money in your checking account to make a donation.

The scenario is identical. The bank is the steward of your wealth Exxon is the steward of hers.

When posting on VMC boards all postings should have a symbol in the header and if foreign please post both US and Foreign symbols.
