Copper prices move with world economic news and that has not been good this year.
But many governments are starting to create problems for mining companies and there will be a slowdown resulting in much lower production, creating shortages and that means higher prices.

SIRG will not have that problem and over the next 10 years copper prices will rise.

Arizona-based Freeport lowers copper production estimate

PHOENIX — Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. today lowered its first-quarter production estimates after violence among workers halted operations at its Indonesian mine for more than two weeks.

The mining company, based in Phoenix, said that it has begun the process to restart the Grasberg mine in eastern Indonesia but that full production isn't expected to occur until the second quarter.

There will be copper shortages due to environmental and other government problems along with worker strikes.
