Smart discretion! Have you ever heard the saying "a wise man changes his mind many times a fool never does"? The IR polled stockholders and ask their opinion on the gas exploration company, the majority of shareholders polled didn't like it!
So rather then make a move that would not be accepted with shareholders they opted to go for a different type of merger.
