Six years ago gold was still soaring towards $650~800. Which is far more expensive then say, four years before that (a total of a decade) where gold was >$400 an oz.

I understand your point in that it was six years ago - but people six years ago KNEW exactly full well what was going to transpire in the securitized markets. I hedged on au/ag physical holdings when silver was $13 an oz and gold was $650. Sure not the bargain basement prices of the 90s, but it was an easy ride up till now.
