It signifies it's a stock symbol! You will also notice when you post on iHub with a $ in front of letters, it highlights them to keep track of buzz.

In twitter it acts as a type of hash tag. When you put a $RFMK, you can click on it to do a search. Using RFMK by itself does not track and is not a clickable search term!
