Hi CJ, thank you for the invitation to check the GF board out. It is lightyears away from the majority drivel on the YMBs. I have loved what I have read here. I went through 3 days worth of older posts and a decent number of the header URls.
The majority of my holdings in a long term retirement account with safe, boring plays like VTI, APPL (bought in under $400), Disney, GE, and sector ETFS.
I also have a trading account. Held BAC till this retracement, sold out to preserve profits. I have raised a lot of cash the last few weeks. Sitting 50/50 right now. Still holding some Biotechs (ACAD, ASTX, TRGT, SPPI, ZLCS). Sold out of my IMUC, GALE, SNSS, MNOV in past week. Sold CBLI several weeks back to lock profits. GALE is the only one I should have held and lost on. Still netted out up overall. Still holding some oil plays (APA,SDRL) that are terribly under water. SDRL pays a 9.6 divvy so I can sweat that one with no problem, APA trades at a forward PE of 6.6 so no problem holding there either. Oil will be back. I have some gold plays PPP and NSU. Bought in pretty low but they fell a bit more since gold continued to skid.
NSU is interesting in that it will turn from a gold play to a longer term copper and zinc mine. The gold deposits essentially have more than paid for the CAPEX of building the mine. I will probably post some DD on NSU for an initial try at paying back.
What I want to learn is a more disciplined approach to entry and exits. I want to learn how to better utilize the technicals. I hang onto winners AND losers both far too long. The old Bulls make money, Bears make money and Pigs get slaughtered needs to finally sink in. I am also interested in options trading and have buried myself reading up on them. Holding THLD 7.50 calls after looking at your posts and investigating them myself. Took a small postion as a learning lab. Nothing that is keeping me up at night.
I am excited about this board. I love to learn and look forward to learning much here.
Anyway.....that is way more than either you or anyone else would be interested in.
