I fully agree. Moreover, virtual colonoscopy suffers as much as physical colonoscopy from the relatively low sensitivity for cancer and, especially, pre-cancer. It’s impractical—and possibly dangerous—to repeat such tests frequently, so there is no way to improve upon the mathematics of such testing in the general population.
On the other hand, a non-invasive, no-prep test such as EXAS’ ColoGuard can be repeated often, allowing the cumulative sensitivity of a series of tests to be impressively high for both cancer and pre-cancer even when the sensitivity of each individual test is only middling.
