wouldn't that be something if SP somehow manages to snag up a few of LNETS execs...Truck a founder...maybe Shapiro...how beautiful and messed up would that be...for LNET...lol...jumping ship for a competitor,

Again, this is not exactly what I'm imagining! I don't think they are jumping ship. If anything, I think they (LNET) are very strategically incorporating what might have been a competitor into their own product offering.

Think about this: LNET is suffering... but NOT because TIVU is taking over the market! (TIVU is barely able to pay for their coffee and donuts in the morning. From a market share standpoint, they are anything but threatening.) However, they (LNET) are suffering from a technological standpoint, and in THAT sense TIVU is a threat. Apparently TIVU has a "beautiful" system, one that LNET cannot mimic at this point in time (whether that be practical, i.e. because they just haven't developed the tech, or whether it be legal, because of pending patents).

So how to respond to such a threat/non-threat?

It seems to me it would be to scoop TIVU up and annex the technology. Now TIVU can't steal the market because they've signed an agreement to help LNET with the portion of the market that they already have. And now TIVU doesn't face extinction either because they've found a niche. Having their business with LNET to build on now, they can go on to capture some of the market, but never pose the kind of threat to LNET that they might have.

Win-Win.

If any of this makes sense, then the personnel moves that we've been seeing make sense too... and again I will say (as I just said in a reply to someone else), I simply cannot read that LNET PR without thinking that it REEKS of the above sort of scenario.

Nic.
