A GP100 Story

As I mentioned a little ways back, while I have been on a medical hiatus from shooting, I have never less purchased a few guns; this is the story of one.

I hardly ever buy guns from pawnshops as they are usually way over priced. However, I was in a pawnshop that also buys gold and silver to sell some scrap gold to put some extra scratch in my pockets.

The line was so long I decided to look around for a bit, that’s when I saw a Blued Ruger GP100 in .357 Mag’ with a 4’’ barrel, it truly was beautiful. I asked the girl at the counter if I could take a closer look; this was big mistake for immediately upon the gun gracing my hand I had to have it. It looked as if it had no more than a maybe a 100-rounds through it, all the bluing was intact with very little wear and gleaming like new. It also had one of my favorite grips on it, a Hogue Coco-Bolo Mono grip.

Long story short, they wanted $439 for it, it took 6-visits and 4-nogothiations, but I finally got them down to $370; I popped that visa out my wallet and jumped on it. Most here know I’m a big time Surm Ruger fan, and especially of their revolvers; I own a few GP100’s, but I have always wanted a blued one and I did not own a 4’’ barreled one either. Here are some pics; be kind, I haven’t cleaned it yet:

This gun will have a detailed cleaning buy the nights end.
