Sources in Somalia’s northeastern state of Puntland have told us that there is a planned move to allow Al-Shabaab militants to amass in the hills of Galgala and carry out a bombing sweep with the help of the United States.
Militants led by Said Atom have been fighting Puntland in the province of Bari since 2010, and have in the past accepted ceasefires. Several months ago, the militants entered into a direct relationship with Al-Shabaab and the wider Al-Qaeda network, ruling out any future negotiations.
In the past year, fighting has been on and off, but mostly at a lull. Our contacts in the region say that the fighters will be allowed to amass at once and then pounded from every angle, finishing their resistance altogether.
Recent migrations out of the region by displaced families also signals an impending maneuver in the area.

"with the help of the United States" ...sounds like Uncle Sam wants some API 37 oil
I read yesterday there were two US aircraft carriers, not too far away.
