I don't know that it's an absence of loyalty, honor and class. I think SI just doesn't understand what made the site what it once was. Corporate America often secretly admires successful start up operations like SI was when GNET bought it. They figure they can make those operations better. And sometimes they do. But oftentimes, they never really trouble themselves to understand what it is they have bought. And without that understanding, they usually end up screwing things up, not making them better.

Another thing that has caused SI to run downhill IMO is the childish behavior of some of the posters. Petty little infighting and name calling seem to be the main theme of several of the remaining active threads. I guess last night some of those animosities surfaced here and some posts were deleted.....though I didn't see them and don't know the circumstances (and don't care either), I do hope that in importing a large chunk of the remaining SI user base, that pettiness gets left behind. If some of the posters who engage in that refuse to come here as a result, that's ok by me.
