Krista S. Jacobsen, PhD.

Krista Jacobsen holds a PhD. and an MSEE from Stanford University, and a BSEE from the University of Denver. She has been awarded seven patents in broadband communicaitons. She is author of two journal papers, two magazine articles, more than 12 conference papers, and over 100 standards contributions. She authored the chapter entitled “Fundamentals of multi-carrier modulation” in Volume 1 of the CRC DSL Handbook (to be published in 2005); is co-author of the chapter on VDSL standardization in Volume 2 (to be published in 2006); is co-editor of both volumes of the Handbook; author of the copper chapter in Broadband Last Mile Technologies (Marcel-Dekker); author of the definition of “broadband communication” in World Book Encyclopedia (2003); and co-editor of June 2002 issue of IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications. From 1994 through 2004 Dr Jacobsen was Lead xDSL Standard Strategist and Senior Staff Engineer with Texas Instruments. She is an independent consultant who joined Rim Semiconductor in August 2005 to guide our product development strategy and oversee the creation of our technical documentation.


Richard Hurn

Richard Hurn began his carreer in 1980 marketing semiconductor fabrication equipment for both Varian Associates and General Signal. From 1998 to 2001 he was a technical marketer for Advanced Fibre Communications (now Tellabs) for their telecom access products for international markets. In 2000 he authored and managed the highly successful launch of a new ADSL product called eMAX. In 2001 he was recruited by Terawave as Manager of Strategic Marketing for their optical access product line. Mr. Hurn serves as an independent consultant to Rim Semiconductor and is responsible for the technical communications materials that support the release of Embarq.
